Elementary Swim Club Sign-Up

WELCOME ELEMENTARY SWIM FAMILIES!

Below you can find information that was sent (via Ms. Lillie) to all TAISM families with children in grades 3-5 regarding the start of Elementary Swim Club.

Dear Elementary Families,

I am excited to invite your child to be a part of swimming at TAISM!

Over the course of the school year, there are three opportunities for your child/children to participate in organized swim club/team after school. Each of these opportunities will have a separate sign-up form.

1. ES Swim Club- November 7th- December 19th (Dec. 10- Winter Time Trial Event)
2. ES Swim Team- January 7th- March 12th (Multiple Local Competitions)
3. ES Swim Club- same schedule as the 3rd ASA Session, (GRADE 2 invited to join)

Elementary Practices are on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 3:30-4:30 PM.
Note-there are additional practice opportunities for intermediate and advanced ES swimmers (by coaches invitation only).

If your child is interested, please check the necessary skills listed below.

Elementary Swim Club Minimum Requirements:
ϖ 3rd, 4th and 5th grade student
ϖ Can swim 25 meters in all strokes without stopping.
ϖ Can swim 50 meters of Freestyle without stopping.
ϖ Comfortable in the deep end of the pool.

ϖ Learning to execute legal swims and a racing start, improving with each practice.
ϖ Can swim 25 M. freestyle in 0:40 or less.

*Remember, while we do focus on stroke improvement, Swim Club/Team is not a swim lesson, rather our focus is improving stroke efficiency, swim stamina and speed within a practice/swim training workout.

If you are interested in signing up, please fill out the ES Swim Club Sign-Up form by Sunday, October 20th.

Returning swimmers, please plan to attend practices beginning on November 7th.
NEW Swimmers-please fill out the form and choose one of the times listed to schedule your swim TRY-OUT. All NEW Swimmers must attend a TRY-OUT before attending practice.

The best way to stay up to date about swimming at TAISM is by following our TAISM SWIM BLOG. On the blog, I post about upcoming events, news & updates, practice schedules, competition results, swim photos and more. Right now, we are wrapping up our competitive MS/HS SAISA season so the current information is geared towards those swim families/athletes. Be sure to check out the blog to see how our swimmers do at SAISA in Nepal next weekend!!!

If you have any questions, please let me know.

I am so excited to work with our energetic and enthusiastic Elementary Swimmers!!!
Looking forward to seeing you at the pool. :-)

Go Eaglets!

Ms. Cori
