SAISA Day 1

Hi TAISM,

It's been a fast day at SAISA for the TAISM Eagles Swimmers. We had a strong line-up of events for our team. We swam 58 personal best times across both the morning and afternoon events.

Our Eagles swam their hearts out and have landed in first place at the end of day one. ACS was leading most of the day and our relays at the end of the night pulled us ahead in the standings. It is VERY close. Just a one point difference in the girls standings between ACS and TAISM-the top two teams after day one.

Day 1 Results
TOP 4 TEAMS

Girls
ACS = 355 points
TAISM = 354 points
Lincoln = 216
Columbo = 209

Boys
TAISM = 303 points
ACS = 277 points
Columbo = 225
Lincoln = 178

Total
TAISM = 657 points
ACS = 632 points
Columbo = 434
Lincoln = 394

Overall, the level of competition is very high across the meet and SAISA records are falling in many events. Our TAISM swimmers broke 10 TAISM School Records today, 3 of which are SAISA records as well!

Max Gelinas in the 100 Backstroke, 1:18.60
Max Gelinas in the 200 Individual Medley, 2:52.79
Emily Little in the 100 Backstroke (* SAISA record), 1:10.03
Asher Leewarner in the 100 Backstroke, 1:10.88
My-Linh Gelinas in the 50 Freestyle (*SAISA record) . 28.13
My-Linh Gelinas in the 100 Backstroke (*SAISA record), 1:09.91
Eva Bonde- in the 200 Breaststroke, 3:03.04.
Ali Shaheen in the 100 Backstroke, 1:06.31

*Aysha Noureldin and Neive also broke the previous school record in the 200 Breaststroke with times of 3:08.03 and 3:08.08 respectively.

Our 13-14 Boys (Louis Junge, James Winkel, Cameron Johnson, Asher Leewarner) swam personal best split times to break a 12 year old school record in the 200 Freestyle Relay.

Our 15+ Girls (Eva Bonde, Lucia Perdiguero, Maren Lee, My-Linh Gelinas) broke the 200 Medley relay school record (which was also the standing SAISA record since 2015). The girls swam like their hair was on fire, broke the SAISA record racing 2 other crazy fast teams ending in TAISM with a heartbreaking 3rd place finish (by .01 of a second). What a race!!!

We look forward to another full day of fast swims tomorrow.

Go EAGLES!!!

Below you can find information that was sent (via Ms. Lillie) to all TAISM families with children in grades 3-5 regarding the start of Elementary Swim Club.

Dear Elementary Families,

I am excited to invite your child to be a part of swimming at TAISM!

Elementary Practices are on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 3:30-4:30 PM.

Returning swimmers, please plan to attend practices beginning on November 7th.

The best way to stay up to date about swimming at TAISM is by following our TAISM SWIM BLOG. On the blog, I post about upcoming events, news & updates, practice schedules, competition results, swim photos and more. Right now, we are wrapping up our competitive MS/HS SAISA season so the current information is geared towards those swim families/athletes. Be sure to check out the blog to see how our swimmers do at SAISA in Nepal next weekend!!!

If you have any questions, please let me know.

I am so excited to work with our energetic and enthusiastic Elementary Swimmers!!!
Looking forward to seeing you at the pool. :-)
